Same-day emergency dentist in Cedar Park
A bad toothache or a painful abscess can make talking, eating, drinking and even sleeping unbearable. Dental emergencies rarely happen at a convenient time, and they can be scary. That’s why our team keeps room in the schedule for same-day emergency patients — new and existing.
Call (512) 670-8880 as early as possible and tell us what happened. We’ll get you seen quickly by Dr. Momin, your trusted dentist in Cedar Park.
Dental emergencies we treat
Severe toothache
Persistent or throbbing pain is often a sign of deep decay or infection that needs prompt care.
Broken or chipped tooth
We repair fractures with bonding, a crown or other treatment to protect the tooth.
Knocked-out tooth
Time matters — call immediately. A tooth reimplanted within about an hour has the best chance of survival.
Lost filling or crown
We re-cement or replace lost restorations to protect the exposed tooth.
Abscess or swelling
Facial swelling or a pimple-like bump on the gum signals infection and needs urgent attention.
Gum & soft-tissue injuries
Cuts to the gums, lips or tongue are cleaned and treated to prevent infection.
What to do before you arrive
- Stay calm, apply gentle pressure with clean gauze to stop bleeding, and protect the injured area.
- Knocked-out tooth: hold it by the crown (not the root), rinse gently without scrubbing, and try to place it back in the socket. If you can’t, keep it in milk or inside your cheek and come in right away.
- If you are bleeding, avoid aspirin, which can increase bleeding. Acetaminophen (Tylenol) taken as directed can help with pain.
- Use a cold compress on the outside of your cheek to reduce swelling.
- Save any broken pieces of tooth or a lost crown and bring them with you.
- For serious or life-threatening trauma — such as a jaw injury, uncontrolled bleeding or swelling that affects breathing or swallowing — call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room.
